Aissata Koné Sidibé, currently General Manager of Coris Bank International Mali has held this position since February 9, 2022.
The Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions of Mali (APBEF) is a non-profit association to which any bank or financial institution operating in Mali is a member. Its objective is to create and maintain cordial relations between its members, to defend their interests by setting up actions for the achievement of the objectives of all the financial institutions of the place.
The APBEF, it is explained, contributes to the improvement of their image with the customers and the authorities, and participates in diversified actions in order to guarantee the professionalism in the banking system. It is the body governing all banks and financial institutions in its relations with the Government, the Chamber of Commerce and other professional organizations.
APBEF-MALI also serves as an intermediary between its members and the monetary and financial authorities, through the powers vested in it by the law and the regulatory texts. It can be mandated by the Minister of Economy and Finance to ensure other common bodies that banks and institutions will constitute.
Aissata Koné Sidibé holds an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York (USA), with a major in finance and accounting, and a Masters in economic and social administration from the University of Nanterre Paris X (France), with a major in business administration and management.
First General Manager of Coris Bank International Mali ,since 2014, Aissata Koné Sidibé, has over 20 years of experience in the banking sector.
Prior to that, she served as Managing Director of Ecobank Mali from December 2010 to May 2014; Director of Risk Management at Ecobank Sierra Leone from October 2006 to November 2010; Deputy Head of Institutional Clients and Head of Public Sector from June 2001 to October 2006; and Head of Local Operations from September 1999 to June 2001 at Ecobank Mali.
In addition, from February 2018 to February 2020, Aissata Koné Sidibé was president of the Club of Bank and Credit Institution Managers of Africa, which brings together the staff of African banks: Chairmen, Vice-Chairmen, General Managers, Deputy General Managers, etc.
