A French national and native of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Elvis Adidiema took up his position on November 2 and will be based between Paris, France and Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
The appointment of Elvis Adidiema was announced by Sony Music Entertainment France’s general manager, Marie-Anne Robert, in an internal email.
Elvis Adidiema will oversee all business operations in French-speaking Africa and is responsible for developing new artist opportunities for the French-speaking African market.
Born on June 3, 1988 and a journalist by training, Elvis Adidiema says he has drawn on a variety of experiences to develop his vision. Before, his appointment, Elvis Adidiema was in charge of the France/Africa music business at Trace TV, in France, since November 2018. He was in charge of artist search and recruitment, negotiation and signing of publishing, distribution and recording deals, strategy and marketing, and press relations. In this capacity, Elvis Adidiema played a key role in the development of artists such as Joe Dwet File and Fally Ipupa. In addition, he participated in the creation and launch of “Trace Kitoko”, a television channel exclusively dedicated to Congolese music and which was inaugurated in Kinshasa on April 4, 2018.
Prior to that, Elvis Adidiema was editor-in-chief of Trace TV, between June 2016 and June 2018. In this position, he was responsible for managing the editorial team (6 journalists), creating the new editorial line of the channel, creating content for the 15 channels of the TRACE group, the Voiceover, writing articles for the TRACE.TV website as well as filming and editing (capsules, 13, 26, 52).
Elvis Adidiema is also the general manager of the OUENZE MUSIC label, which he created with Congolese-born basketball player Serge Ibaka, and which produced the single “Champion”, a feat between Serge Ibaka and the artist Ninho. He is also the man behind the release of “ART”, Serge Ibaka’s upcoming event album, from which the single “Champion” is taken. Elvis Adidiema holds a Master’s degree in image journalism from the Ecole Supérieure de Journalisme in Paris; a Bachelor’s degree in information and communication from the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris 3; and a University Diploma of Technology (DUT) in marketing techniques from the University of Paris 13.
