The president of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, appointed on Friday 24 February, Teresa Isabel Nnang Avomo as the new Managing Director of the national oil company, Guinea Ecuatorial de Petróleos (GEpetrol). Isabel Nnang Avomo becomes the first woman to head GEPetrol, one of the country's largest public companies.
GEpetrol is the National Oil Company of Equatorial Guinea created by decree of the Presidency of the Republic. The company began operations in 2002.
