Ivorian Serge Agnero, new Regional Director Gulf of Guinea of Bolloré Transport & Logistics

Appointed to this position since October 6, 2021, Serge Agnero succeeds Mohamed Abdoulaye Diop who is transferred to the Atlantic region of Africa.

In his new position, Serge Agnero will oversee the activities of Bolloré Transport & Logistics in Cameroon, Chad, CAR and Equatorial Guinea. Prior to his appointment, he was managing director of Bolloré Transport & Logistics Gabon, a position he held from March 2019 to October 2021.

Serge Agnero joined the Bolloré Transport & Logistics teams in December 2018, after having held́, from 2011 to 2018, numerous positions at Canal+ International. Indeed, from May 2011 to October 2014, he was General Manager of Canal+ Côte d’Ivoire and, subsequently, General Manager of Canal+ Réunion, a position he held from October 2014 to March 2016. Subsequently, Serge Agnero moved to Paris to take up the position of Director of Operations Africa and General Manager BU affiliated countries at Canal Overseas or Canal+ international. He held this position from June 2016 to December 2018, before joining the Bolloré Group as a project manager, and then as CEO of Bolloré Transport & Logistics Gabon.

Executive at Unilever

Before joining Canal+ International, Serge Agnero worked for Unilever in West Africa. From July 2009 to May 2011, he was Managing Director of Unilever in West Africa, overseeing 9 countries. Prior to that, from June 2007 to October 2009, Serge Agnero was Program Director – Global Customer Development Team for Unilever, based in Singapore. In this role, he coordinated the Win with Customers (WwC) program for Unilever in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, assessing the top 10 operating companies (each with sales of more than €500 million) and supporting the development of business strategy and integration of required capabilities across the organization.

Previously, Serge Agnero served as Market Development Director for French-speaking West Africa for Unilever, based in Côte d’Ivoire. In this position, he notably worked in network with sub-regional organizations (ECOWAS, UEMOA) and local authorities (Senegal, Niger, Mali, Togo, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and Cameroon) to develop an attractive business and investment climate.
Serge Agnero holds a Master’s degree in science and technology from the University of Cocody in Côte d’Ivoire and an engineering degree from the École nationale supérieure d’électrotechnique, d’électronique, d’informatique et d’hydraulique in Toulouse. His knowledge of the operational business will enable him to develop innovative and agile solutions adapted to customer needs.
